Innovative Camp Academy

Overview

  • Designed to equip new camp professionals with essential skills often missing from training and early professional youth development experiences.

  • A key goal is to ensure emerging leaders are empowered with the vital tools and community needed to thrive and make the shift from being a doer to a leader.

  • Explore critical topics such as managing insurance, hiring contractors, and building budgets.

  • Join a cohort of peers for a vital support network, while follow-up virtual sessions provide critical tools and community support.

Topics
Operational Management: community partnerships and resources, budgeting strategies, problem-solving, self-care for the leader, mission focus and mission creep, building working relationships with leadership and governing bodies (ex, CEO, board of directors), working with families, time management, and more!

Risk Management: Emergency management, risk management, and collaborating with local services.

 

Site and Facilities: water and wastewater needs, overseeing food services, working with and selecting vendors and contractors.

Rates include all workshops, meals, snacks, onsite socials, 2 Interactive Virtual Gatherings, and lodging at The Clemson University Outdoor Lab!  This beautiful site is located just 10 minutes from Clemson University main campus, on 300+ wooded acres on Lake Hartwell. The peaceful site promotes focus and creativity, perfect for learning and connection.
